Celebrate the start of 2026 with the tradition of Osechi!
Welcome the New Year with a traditional Japanese Osechi meal—beautifully arranged boxes filled with symbolic dishes representing good fortune, prosperity, and health. Each dish carries deep cultural significance and offers rich, authentic flavors to share with family and friends.

We’ve been around for a while — since 1963 — dishing out authentic Edo-style Japanese cuisine in NYC. We’ve turned New York diners on to a wide range of Japanese dishes over the decades, from full-course kaiseki menus to genuine hand-cut soba. Doesn’t mean we are merely traditionalists, though: among other dishes, we invented the now widely-popular Beef Negimayaki (scallions rolled in prime beef) and pioneered the ever-popular soba salad. With modern Japanese cuisine continuing to evolve, we even indulge in a bit of fusion, like agedashi-style mozzarella, so long as it doesn’t get too confusing. Whether you join us at the restaurant or dine at home, we hope you enjoy our cuisine that is firmly-rooted in Japanese culinary tradition while adapting to the times.
